Capo Vaticano, cliffs and breathtaking sunsets
All shades of blue, azure and turquoise, enchanting coves and gullies, sandy seabeds, rocky outcrops, sheer granite cliffs: Capo Vaticano, less than twenty kilometres from the resort, is, according to Traveler Condè Nast, “one of the ten best ‘hidden’ beaches in Italy“.
Incredible views
From the lighthouse, one of the oldest in Calabria, and from the two belvederes of Capo Vaticano, it is possible to admire an incredible panorama: the beautiful beaches of the Calabrian Tyrrhenian coast, the Strait of Messina and the Aeolian Islands, with Stromboli in the foreground.
Museo del Mare
The Museo del Mare, a few metres from the lighthouse, is dedicated to the history of fishing and navigation: the entire coast has been navigated by sea since Greek and Roman times.
Beach of Grotticelle
In addition to the most popular beach of Grotticelle, formed by three adjacent coves, the beaches of Tono, Santa Maria, Torre Ruffa, Praia di Fuoco, Formicoli and Riaci Bay are characterised by wild vegetation, white sand and seabeds inhabited by a surprising variety of fish. Here the sky and the sea merge, giving you the feeling of being in a heavenly place.
